Fellini's 8 1/2
In this scene, taken from Fellini's 81/2, we see an image of a prostitute, Saraghina, doing a strip tease for the young boys who escape school to come and see her. They are frightened and intrigued. Fellini has always been well known for his depictions of odd characters and disturbing, circus-like images from his dreams. Saraghnia is shown as a very sexual, aggressive, frightening creature who speaks only with her body language and her eyes. Fellini somehow takes these disturbing looking characters and makes them attractive. There is something .........
