"How many film directors make films to satisfy their sexual fantasies"

This is a trailer to Peter Greenaway's 1999 film, 8 1/2 Women. Greenaway has always been known to shock audiences, particularly with his depiction of both full male and female nudity. It's something that he says only American audiences have a problem with. This film is about 8 1/2 male sexual fantasies. A father and son turn their Swiss mansion in to a house of sexual pleasure. The line, "How many film directors make films to satisfy their sexual fantasies" occurs when the father and son are watching Fellini's 81/2. Ironically, Greenaway is doing this very thing with his movie where the two men grow to be sick of sex by the end of their story. These fictional characters are a representation of Greenaway's provocative, perhaps, secret fascinations with women and sex. Greenaway's movies are very hard for certain people to watch because of their bizarre uncomfortable feeling. Women might feel this film to be sexist or misogynistic. Undoubtedly the film portrays a very erotic depiction of women and sex.
